| Summary, etc. | Résumé Cet article s’intéresse, à travers le cas d’Ernest Labrousse, à la façon dont les historiens dans les années 1930 ont abordé les statistiques et l’outil statistique afin de construire des modèles interprétatifs. Sont ainsi analysés à la fois le contexte intellectuel qui a permis cette rencontre entre histoire, économie et statistique et des questions plus internes à la démarche labroussienne, comme par exemple le problème des prix (à la fois sources quantitatives et concept économique) dans l’élaboration de son célèbre modèle de la crise d’ancien type. L’article se termine par une réflexion sur les possibilités de reproduction d’un tel modèle et les raisons de sa réification. |

| Summary, etc. | This article, based on the case of Ernest Labrousse, focuses on the manner in which historians in the 1930s dealt with statistics and the statistical tool in order to construct interpretative models. Also analysed are the intellectual context which permitted this encounter between history, economics and statistics and the questions central to the Labroussienne approach, such as for example the problem of prices (both quantitative measures and economic concepts at the same time), in the development of his famous model of traditional economic crises. The article concludes with a reflection on the possibilities of reproducing such a model and the reasons for its reification. |
