| Summary, etc. | RésuméLe texte défend la thèse selon laquelle il existe une tradition qui court de Comte à Bourdieu et passant par Durkheim et les durkheimiens et que cette tradition est de nature intellectuelle. Le texte part d’une présentation des trois principales formes de critique sociologique de l’économie politique qui existent depuis la fin du xixe siècle. Puis il montre que la position défendue par les trois sociologues français ne peut s’expliquer seulement par leur formation ou par leur rapport (distancié) à l’économie politique et met l’accent sur la filiation intellectuelle qui vise à disqualifier scientifi-quement l’économie politique en raison du rôle accordé aux représentations sociales, que celles-ci soient engendrées par l’activité économique elle-même ou qu’elles proviennent de leur construction sociale par l’intermédiaire de l’institution scolaire. |

| Summary, etc. | This paper claims that, from Comte to Durkheim and the Durkheimians and up to Bourdieu, there is a French intellectual tradition in which the sociologist appears as a critique of political economy. The paper starts with a brief presentation of the three main forms of economic sociology and then focusses on the possible explanations of the position advocated by these leading French sociologists, emphasizing the intellectual filiation that runs from Comte to Bourdieu when it comes to deligitimizing political economy as a science. The role given to social representations, whether stemming from economic activity itself or from a social construction, notably tyhe one associated with teachng institutions, is then considered as the central analytical point that gives this tradition its intellectual power. |
