| Summary, etc. | Même si les inégalités de genre dans les niveaux de participation politique ont évolué au fil du temps, elles paraissent plus que jamais différenciées et dépendantes des modes d’action. Comment expliquer cette évolution inégale des niveaux de participation politique entre les femmes et les hommes en France ? Cette étude propose un cadrage théorique nouveau et s’appuie sur une approche empirique doublement comparative en analysant différents types d’engagement politique et en suivant des cohortes de naissances au fil du temps, prenant appui sur trois grandes enquêtes longitudinales : l’enquête européenne sur les valeurs (1981-2017), l’enquête sociale européenne (2002-2018) ainsi que les enquêtes sur la participation électorale de l’Insee (2002-2017). |

| Summary, etc. | Although gender-based inequalities in political participation have evolved over time, they are nevertheless more differentiated than ever, and highly dependent on modes of action. How can we explain the uneven evolution in levels of political participation between men and women in France ? Offering a new theoretical framework, this study relies on an empirical approach that compares different types of political engagement and follows different birth cohorts over time. It draws on three major longitudinal studies : the European Values Study (1981-2017), the European Social Survey (2002-2018), and INSEE’s studies on electoral participation (2002-2017). |
