Vingt ans après l’arrivée au pouvoir du parti islamo-conservateur de Recep Tayyip Erdog˘an, ce pays est frappé par une crise économique et sociale profonde, qui affecte intensément le niveau de vie de la population1. Il est probable que l’opposition fera campagne sur ce thème. Pourtant, c’est significativement la défense, voire le rétablissement de la démocratie, qui est la priorité de la coalition des formations politiques d’opposition qui se préparent à affronter le parti au pouvoir et son leader, lors de la prochaine échéance électorale2. |

Twenty years after Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s Islamic conservative party came to power, the country has been hit by a deep economic and social crisis that is severely affecting the living standards of the population. It is likely that the opposition will campaign on this issue. Yet it is precisely the defence (and even restoration) of democracy that is the priority of the coalition of opposition political parties currently preparing to confront the ruling party and its leader at the next elections. |
