Cet instrument de protection de la biodiversité marine était très attendu, notamment par les organisations non gouvernementales. Reste à savoir si le dispositif prévu est à la hauteur de leurs attentes. |

| Summary, etc. | On 20 June 2023, the agreement relating to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea concerning “the conservation and sustainable use of the marine biological diversity of areas beyond national jurisdiction” was adopted. It is more commonly known as the “High Seas Treaty”. This instrument for the protection of marine biodiversity was eagerly awaited, not least by non-governmental organisations. It remains to be seen whether the plan will live up to their expectations. |
