| Summary, etc. | El ethos de la filosofía de Locke se caracteriza por un énfasis particular en las virtudes de la verdad y la veracidad. Amar la verdad por sí misma significa mostrar una forma de indiferencia a la verdad de las opiniones sometidas a nuestro juicio. El artículo muestra que esta actitud requiere tanto una «ética de la creencia» como una forma de cultivo de la mente, una «conducta del entendimiento», en la que la indiferencia epistémica se presenta como una virtud intelectual que debe cultivarse mediante el ejercicio y el estudio. Se muestra, por último, cómo esta forma de entender la virtud del filósofo encuentra una respuesta en el Ensayo sobre el entendimiento humano. |
