| Summary, etc. | À partir de plusieurs enquêtes successives au cours du xxe siècle, on a pu établir, selon les principes de la synchronie dynamique, un système phonologique « moyen » du français et mettre en lumière l’évolution générale de la prononciation en France en comparant les usages des plus jeunes et des plus âgés et en décrivant la répartition géographique des prononciations : moitié méridionale d’une part et moitié septentrionale de l’autre, et, pour cette dernière, longueur vocalique à l’est et timbre à l’ouest. |
