| Summary, etc. | Conservé aux Archives départementales du Calvados, le cartulaire de l’abbaye prémontrée de Mondaye se compose de trois parties inégales. La première fut réalisée peu après 1241, la deuxième vers 1275, et la troisième (beaucoup plus courte) vers le milieu du xive siècle. Écrite d’une seule main, la première partie du cartulaire, contenant 197 chartes, constitue une œuvre à part entière que l’on peut qualifier de « premier cartulaire ». L’étude de ce codex montre que le volume initial n’avait pas pour but de servir d’outil pour la gestion du patrimoine de l’abbaye mais qu’il était destiné à servir la mémoire des premiers bienfaiteurs de l’abbaye. |

| Summary, etc. | The first register of deeds of the abbey of MondayeThis register of the abbey of Mondaye in the Calvados archives is in three parts. The first dates from around 1241, the second from 1275 and the last (much shorter) from the middle of the 14th century. Written by one person, the first part contains 197 deeds and is the original register. The study of this document shows that its primary role was not administrative but sought to commemorate the memory of the first benefactors of the abbey. |
