| Summary, etc. | On October 25th 2011 the European Union adopted its Social Business Initiative. On analysing it, and the context to which it belongs, we are brought to acknowledge a flagrant imbalance between the intention of promoting social enterprises, and a failure to recognise that the associations exist, though 80% of social business enterprises are associations. Next we inquire into the response of the associations with regard to their capacity to mobilise and bring about a change of paradigm. Finally we show how a reductive view of social enterprises leads to a trap, not only for the associations and for social services but for the European social model. |

| Summary, etc. | La Unión Europea adoptó el 25 de octubre del 2011 su «Iniciativa para el emprendimiento social». Su análisis, así como el del contexto en el que se inserta, conduce a constatar el desequilibrio fragante que existe entre la voluntad de promover empresas sociales y la ausencia de (re)conocimiento del hecho asociativo, a pesar de que más del 80% de las empresas de economía social son asociaciones. Analizamos la reacción de las asociaciones desde la perspectiva de su capacidad de movilizarse para inducir un cambio de paradigma. Concluiremos planteando la trampa que constituye esta visión reduccionista de las empresas sociales y sus consecuencias no solo para las asociaciones y los servicios sociales, sino también para el futuro del modelo social europeo. |
