| Summary, etc. | Algunos debates historiográficos actuales, como los relativos a las desigualdades sociales o incluso, más concretamente, los que rodean a la revolución industriosa, han puesto de manifiesto el reto que sigue representando para la historia social y económica el estudio de la evolución del nivel de vida de los más humildes. Este artículo pretende abordar esta cuestión mediante un enfoque regional, basado en las fuentes consideradas más significativas. Aporta un conjunto de pruebas de la mejora del nivel de vida de los individuos del grupo social de los «trabajadores» ( treballadors) en el territorio de Gerona (situada en el nordeste de la península ibérica), gracias al cruce de datos procedentes de dos fuentes notariales (los contratos matrimoniales y los inventarios de bienes post mortem) y al testimonio directo de un campesino ampurdanés, Sebastià Casanovas, durante la segunda mitad del siglo XVIII. |
