| Summary, etc. | Résumé : Cet article est l’occasion d’opérer un retour réflexif sur plusieurs années d’expérience de la pratique de recherche en sciences sociales, envisagées à travers les enjeux éthiques de la production et la diffusion des données.Nous y discutons quelques implications de ce que l’on peut appeler « profilage » sociologique des populations, qui consiste à recueillir, analyser et publier, sous une forme ou une autre, des informations relatives à des caractéristiques « objectives », des pratiques ou des opinions des personnes, en incluant des données se présentant sous forme textuelle désormais largement accessibles via les réseaux sociaux.Sont successivement discutés les enjeux autour de la production et la diffusion de données de questionnaires, le cas particulièrement signifiant des données sur les « élites » ainsi que des questions plus générales relatives aux dynamiques des Big Data. |

| Summary, etc. | This article is an opportunity to reflect on several years of experience in social science research practice, viewed through the lens of the ethical issues of data production and dissemination. We discuss some of the implications of what can be called sociological “profiling” of populations, which consists of collecting, analyzing and publishing, in one form or another, information about “objective” characteristics, practices or opinions of people, including data in textual form that is now widely accessible via social networks. The issues surrounding the production and dissemination of questionnaire data, the particularly significant case of data on “elites” and more general questions relating to the dynamics of Big Data are discussed. |
