| Summary, etc. | En décembre 2022, les Parties à la Convention sur la diversité biologique ont adopté un nouveau plan stratégique pour la décennie à venir : le Cadre mondial de l’après-2020 pour la biodiversité. Tourné vers l’action et les résultats, le nouveau Cadre mondial veut tirer les leçons de l’échec du Plan stratégique précédent, les Objectifs d’Aïchi. Il comporte 23 Cibles qui doivent permettre, à l’horizon 2030, de faire cesser et inverser la perte de biodiversité afin de promouvoir le rétablissement de la nature. Suivant une approche axée sur les droits et visant une intégration rapide dans la gouvernance internationale de l’environnement, le Cadre mondial est renforcé par des nouveaux mécanismes de suivi et de mise en œuvre, qu’il reste toutefois à concrétiser pour soutenir l’ambition et espérer atteindre les différentes cibles. |

| Summary, etc. | In December 2022, Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity adopted a new strategic plan for the next decade: the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF). Action- and results -oriented, the new GBF seeks to learn from the shortcomings of the previous Strategic Plan, the Aichi Targets. The new GBF includes 23 Targets which aim to halt and reverse biodiversity loss by 2030 with the goal of promoting environmental recovery. Following a rights-based approach and aiming at rapidly integrate into international environmental governance, the Global Biodiversity Framework relies on new monitoring and implementation mechanisms to be put in place to support the realization of the established targets. |
