| Summary, etc. | Les études menées sur les expositions aux pesticides en milieu agricole attestent que malgré les mesures de prévention, les agriculteurs sont toujours exposés dans leur activité de travail. Un des déterminants de ces expositions est le matériel dédié à l’application des pesticides. L’hypothèse au départ de notre travail de recherche – que les premiers résultats obtenus tendent à confirmer – est que les besoins réels des utilisateurs et les conditions réelles d’utilisation sont faiblement pris en compte dans le processus de conception des pulvérisateurs. Dans le cadre de ce dernier, un ensemble très hétérogène de normes juridiques et techniques doit être pris en compte. Le travail présenté ici a pour originalité de proposer une approche pluridisciplinaire, croisant ergonomie et droit, afin de mieux comprendre la manière dont les concepteurs réagissent à la fois aux situations de travail réelles et aux contraintes réglementaires qui pèsent sur eux afin de proposer des pistes d’amélioration. Sur le plan méthodologique, ce travail ouvre sur une problématique assez peu approfondie jusqu’ici en santé au travail, les rapports entre ergonomie et droit, afin de s’interroger sur les conditions d’un enrichissement mutuel entre ces deux disciplines. |

| Summary, etc. | Studies conducted on pesticide exposure show that despite preventive measures, farm workers and farmers are still being exposed during their work activity. One of the determinants of these exposure situations is the equipment used for spraying pesticides. Our initial hypothesis – which seems to be confirmed by the first results – is that the farmers’ real needs and the real conditions of use are poorly taken into account in the spray equipment design process. As part of this design process, a very diverse set of legal and technical standards and specifications must be taken into account. The originality of this paper lies in its multidisciplinary approach : ergonomics and law. The objective of the study is to better understand and document the designers’ activity (how they combine the set of legal and technical requirements and feedback from the users’ work activities) to identify possible improvements. From a methodological point of view, this work questions a relatively unexplored area of health and safety research, the interactions between ergonomics and law, with the aim of making this relationship mutually beneficial. |
