| Summary, etc. | La musique est un des arts les plus difficiles à réglementer, car c’est un langage particulier : la signification n’en est pas donnée d’emblée dans le cas de la musique instrumentale. Son pouvoir de séduction, qui ne passe pas par les mots, s’adresse de façon plus immédiate à la sensibilité. D’où l’intérêt des pouvoirs politiques-il s’agira ici surtout des régimes communistes du xxe siècle-pour sa réglementation, qui eut en général des effets négatifs sur le plan esthétique, comme le montre l’exemple du réalisme socialiste. |

| Summary, etc. | Music is one of the most difficult arts to regulate, because it is a special language : the meaning is not given straight away in the case of instrumental music. Its power of seduction, which cannot be expressed in words, is more immediately addressed to sensitivity. Hence the interest of the political powers - here it will be a question above all of the communist regimes of the 20th century - for its regulation, which in general had negative effects on the aesthetic level, as the example of socialist realism shows. |
