520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | The purpose of this article – Why Saints in times of distress ? – is to situate the anthropological issues of sainthood, organized around two concepts. Firstly that of Exception, secondly Might, borrowed from Nietzsche. What is Exception ? What is Might ? Power is the opposite of Might as it remains subservient to the self, whereas Might is the energy which enables one to flee the self. Might is the dynamic energy – dynamis – accompanying the Soul’s journey to sainthood. Breaking down the onto-psychological barrier of the self concept of the Moderns, under lock and key since Descartes, Might frees the road to the rediscovery of the Soul. The Soul, not the unconscious self is what is repressed in modern Western psychology. The Soul, which used to be at the center of philosophy, is now a lost word. |
