| Summary, etc. | En dépit de la présence massive de la voix dans la Bible, l’exégèse semble avoir laissé de côté la manifestation dernière de celui qui meurt sur la Croix : une « grande voix », un ancrage biblique singulier. La théologie fondamentale pour sa part n’a pas cru devoir prendre en compte le phénomène – singulier lui aussi – de la voix comme telle. « De qui est-ce la voix ? », demande ici Michel Henry. Lisant celui pour qui la question de l’Incarnation aura été question ultime, nous voulons rendre à ce qui se montre en dernier la première place. Signe qui n’est entendu dans le monde que parce que d’abord silence vivant, la voix ne témoigne de rien d’autre que du partage de la vie, de son épreuve. Phénomène des phénomènes ainsi, c’est le seul passage dont nous disposons pour, sans nous en passer, pouvoir dépasser analogies ou métaphores. Le seul passage toujours ouvert « du phénomène au fondement » ( Fides et ratio). |

| Summary, etc. | In spite of an immense presence of the voice in the Bible, exegesis seems to have ignored the last manifestation of he who dies on the cross: a “great voice”, a most singular biblical anchorage. Fundamental theology for its part has not felt it necessary to take into account the phenomenon – equally singular – of the “voice in itself”. “To whom does this voice belong?” Michel Henry asks. To read the man for whom the question of the Incarnation will have been the ultimate question, we would wish to give back the first place to that which shows itself last. A sign that is only heard in the world because first and foremost a living silence, the voice bears witness to nothing other than the sharing of life and of its trial. Thus phenomenon of phenomena, this is the only path of which we may avail ourselves to take us, without abandoning them, beyond analogy and metaphor. The only way still open “from phenomenon to foundation” ( Fides et ratio). |
