| Summary, etc. | L’écrivain francophone d’origine chinoise François Cheng, écrivain migrant en France, connaît aujourd’hui une forte reconnaissance auprès du lectorat français. Il a pourtant subi avant sa notoriété, pendant une longue période, une crise identitaire à cause des expériences d’errance après son arrivée dans ce pays d’accueil. Pris dans la confrontation entre deux cultures hétérogènes, la culture chinoise et la culture française, il a réussi à construire une identité transculturelle bien spécifique et à présenter l’image d’un homme de dialogue, un « pèlerin » entre l’Orient et l’Occident, en ne cessant d’avoir recours à la culture et à la pensée chinoises dans ses créations littéraires. Cet auteur au parcours emblématique et contrasté (auteur en exil et figure de réussite) nous invite à étudier le rapport entre ses expériences identitaires, sa mobilisation de la culture chinoise et la figure auctoriale qu’il souhaite présenter de lui-même. |

| Summary, etc. | The French writer of Chinese origin François Cheng, a migrant writer in France, is today widely recognized by French readers. However, prior to his notoriety, he suffered for a long period an identity crisis due to his experiences of wandering after his arrival in this host country. Caught up in the confrontation between two heterogeneous cultures, Chinese culture and French culture, he succeeded in constructing a very specific transcultural identity and presenting the image of a man of dialogue, a “pilgrim” between East and West, constantly resorting to Chinese culture and thought in his literary creations. This author’s emblematic and contrasting career path (author in exile and figure of success) invites us to study the relationship between his identity experiences, his mobilization of Chinese culture and the auctorial figure he wishes to present of himself. |
