| Summary, etc. | Traitant des enjeux méthodologiques et théoriques d’une enquête de terrain, cet article offre d’abord une perspective épistémologique sur l’étude interdisciplinaire des musiques en sciences sociales. Il se propose de partir de l’examen d’une scène musicale du centre-ville de Marseille pour montrer comment, à partir du processus de construction de l’objet de recherche – les musiques live par la ville –, a été élaborée une approche capable d’articuler des cadres théoriques distincts, principalement les popular music studies, la sociologie interactionniste, l’écologie urbaine et l’anthropologie. Conçue à partir de l’enquête ethnographique sur une trajectoire de recherche qui a voulu donner toute son importance aux dimensions territoriales et sensorielles pour l’analyse des musiques live, la configuration analytique qui en résulte met à l’épreuve la compatibilité de ces cadres théoriques afin de rendre compte au mieux des enjeux culturels, sociaux et urbains de la scène ouverte que constitue La Plaine à Marseille. |

| Summary, etc. | Dealing with the methodological and theoretical issues that can arise from fieldwork, this article primarily sets out to offer an epistemological perspective on the interdisciplinary study of music within social sciences. It starts with the study of the music scene of Marseille’s city center to demonstrate how the construction of a research object – live music through the city – progressively led to the development of an approach that was able to combine various theoretical frameworks, mainly popular music studies, interactionism, urban ecology, and anthropology. Based on an ethnographic investigation and on a research trajectory that focused on the territorial and sensitive dimensions of live music analysis, the resulting analytical configuration challenges the compatibility of these frameworks in order to provide the most accurate account of the cultural, social, and urban issues of La Plaine’s music scene in Marseille. |
