Elle vit une sorte de solitude au milieu des autres : solitude créatrice qui la fera aller d’un projet de carrière littéraire à l’apprentissage du nouveau métier d’assistante sociale, solitude qui est un des thèmes majeurs de sa pensée. D’autre part, avec elle le mot « charité » persiste, au-delà de ses caricatures. Il n’est absorbé par aucune des mises en œuvre du service social. Elle réserve ce mot. Enfin, c’est par l’approfondissement d’une situation singulière qu’elle pense rejoindre le plus grand nombre. |

| Summary, etc. | Madeleine Delbrêl was an artist throughout her life. She lived a certain sort of solitude amongst others: a creative solitude which took her from the project of a literary career to the apprenticeship of a new profession: that of a social service, a solitude which is one of the major themes of her philosophy. Moreover, with her the word “charity” persists over and above its multiple caricatures. The word cannot be found in any of her writing about social work. It is a protected and reserved word. Finally it is, by through searching of a particular situation that she feed she can get through to multitudes of persons. |
