| Summary, etc. | Résumé Dans le Paris du milieu des années 1950, marqué par une vie culturelle assez conservatrice encore, un groupe de jeunes musiciens se structure autour de la figure paternelle d’Arnold Schoenberg et de sa création, l’atonalité (avec comme chef de file Pierre Boulez) ou autour de recherches en laboratoire sur le matériau sonore. Une nouvelle esthétique, fondée sur la rupture avec le passé naît et conditionne une nouvelle morphologie du champ musical. Ces positionnements artistiques aboutissent à l’émergence d’une nouvelle rhétorique, toute entière tournée vers la défense de la modernité contre l’académisme, reconstruction de l’histoire visant à créer une nouvelle identité esthétique. |

| Summary, etc. | In the middle of the 1950s, Parisian cultural life was still quite conservative. A group of young musicians, inspired by the paternal figure, Arnold Schoenberg, and his creation, atonality, was formed (the leader was Pierre Boulez). Another source of inspiration was laboratory research on sound. A new aesthetics, based upon a break with the past, was born. It influenced the development of a new morphology in the musical field. These artistic positions led to the emergence of a new rhetoric, entirely turned towards the defence of modernity as opposed to academicism, a reconstruction of history aimed at a new aesthetic identity. |
