| Summary, etc. | RésuméLa Bibliothèque nationale de France qui, depuis 1911, produit des archives audiovisuelles, est la première bibliothèque musicale de recherche en France. L’offre documentaire audiovisuelle proposée est patrimoniale et encyclopédique. Elle représente toute l’histoire des techniques d’enregistrement et de reproduction du son et tous les genres d’enregistrements possibles. Ces documents sont encore mal connus par les chercheurs, peu habitués à travailler sur ce type de support. L’article distingue trois types de sources disponibles à la Bibliothèque nationale de France : les sources sonores comprenant les enregistrements musicaux, mais aussi un ensemble important d’enregistrements de « voix célèbres », ou encore les enregistrements des dialectes et folklores du monde ; les sources papiers, livres, catalogues de marques, périodiques qui demeurent indispensables lors de recherches approfondies sur le fonds sonore ; les sources en lignes, disponibles sur le site internet de la Bibliothèque nationale de France via sa bibliothèque numérique Gallica. |

| Summary, etc. | The national Library of France is the first musical research library in France. It has been accumulating audiovisual archives since 1911. The goal of its archive policy is twofold: patrimonial and encyclopedic. It represents all the history of the techniques of recording and reproduction of sound and all types of recordings: music, discourses, ethnographic records... These documents are very well-known to researchers who are not used to work with these types of supports. Three types of sources pertaining to sound recording are available at the Bibliothèque nationale de France: the recorded sources include musical records, but also an important collection of “famous voices” recordings, and many records of dialects and folklores from all over world; the printed sources: books, periodicals, and label catalogs, indispensable complement to any in-depth research using the sound archive; the online ressources, available on the Bibliothèque nationale de France web site through its digital library Gallica. |
