| Summary, etc. | À la suite de la loi du 2 janvier 2002-2 rénovant l’action sociale et médico-sociale, l’injonction de faire participer les usagers aux décisions les concernant a considérablement modifié les pratiques des équipes. La participation des usagers au fonctionnement des établissements et services continue cependant à questionner les professionnels. Dans un établissement qui accueille pour une période de réadaptation des personnes majoritairement traumatisées crâniennes, comment la participation des usagers dans les instances prévues à cet effet s’articule-t-elle avec la mission centrale de réadaptation, avec quels effets sur les individus et sur le collectif ? Les usagers eux-mêmes, affaiblis par une perte de leurs capacités entraînant un important bouleversement identitaire, subissent-ils le dispositif, ou au contraire parviennent-ils à s’en saisir pour exercer une influence sur le fonctionnement de l’institution, développer et faire reconnaître leur pouvoir d’agir ou encore construire de nouvelles identités valorisées ? |

| Summary, etc. | Since the January 2cnd 2002-2 Act renovating social and medico-social action, the injunction to stimulate participation of service users in the decisions concerning them has considerably modified the practice of professional teams. However, participation continues to raise questions for professionals. In an establishment taking in people mostly suffering from cranial trauma for a period of readaptation, how does the participation of service users in bodies created to this effect articulate with the central task of readaptation, with what effect on individuals and on the collectivity? Do service users themselves, weakened by a loss of their capacities carrying with it a profound change in the self-image, submit to the procedures involved or on the contrary, do they manage to seize them as a way of influencing the functioning of the institution, develop and obtain recognition of their empowerment or even construct new valued forms of identity. |
