| Summary, etc. | En 1945, lors de son rattachement à la France, la Moselle connaissait de graves difficultés. Il fallait redémarrer son économie et appliquer les réformes sociales favorables aux salariés. L’historiographie a révélé l’ambiguïté de cette période, notamment en ce qui concerne l’emploi des femmes. Aussi l’objectif de cet article est-il de comprendre la construction sociale du travail féminin dans ce contexte local. Des archives de la puissance publique et de la presse ont été mobilisées à cet effet. Le croisement des sources montre le maintien d’une frontière du genre visible à travers l’emploi. Les traditionnels rôles sociaux ont été maintenus. Ils sont explicites avec les inégalités de situations et de traitements qui restent défavorables aux femmes. |

| Summary, etc. | Labour and Gender Assignments at the End of the WarIn 1945, at the end of the war, the French department of Moselle was experiencing grave difficulties. Its economy was faltering and a number of social reforms that were favourable to employees had to be implemented. Historical records illustrate the ambiguity of this period, in particular with regard to women’s employment. This article thus seeks to understand the social construct of women’s work in this local context. The governmental and press archives consulted to this end reveal the preservation of gender borders through employment, where traditional social roles were maintained. These also explicitly reveal disparities with regard to situations and treatments, which remained unfavourable to women. |
