| Summary, etc. | Cet article explore le positionnement complexe des membres d’un mouvement de jeunesse catholique (JOC-F) face aux thématiques de la révolution sexuelle dans les années 1968. À partir des périodiques publiés par le mouvement ainsi que de documents déposés aux Archives départementales des Hauts-de-Seine, il envisage le basculement progressif d’un mouvement confessionnel, au fort patrimoine militant et idéologique, vers une forme de modernité bio-éthique et morale sur les questions d’éducation sexuelle, de contraception et de droit à l’interruption volontaire de grossesse (IVG). Cette conversion n’aboutit pas à la déconfessionalisation du mouvement. Le nouveau positionnement, non conforme au point de vue institutionnel catholique, s’établit également en tension avec des standards plus laïcs. |

| Summary, etc. | Young Catholics of the Young Christian Workers Association and the “Sexual Revolution” in 1970s FranceThis article analyses the complex positioning of the members of the Youth Christian Workers (YCW) association regarding issues raised by the sexual revolution in France during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Using the movement’s publications as well as other documents stored in the Hauts-de-Seine departmental archives, this article describes the gradual shift away from a faith-based movement with a strong militant and ideological legacy, and towards a form of bioethical and moral modernity on issues of sex education, contraception and the right to abortion. This transformation did not lead to the movement’s deconfessionalisation. In fact, this new positioning, which was not in conformity with Catholic institutional norms, also created tension with more secular standards. |
