| Summary, etc. | RésuméL’article pose la question des modèles artistiques qui circulaient dans les pays socialistes, à partir de l’exemple des arts plastiques en RDA. Le seul modèle revendiqué était l’art soviétique, pourtant peu repris par les artistes est-allemands engagés dans la création du réalisme socialiste. Les formes réalistes instituées en modèle viennent plutôt des périphéries du bloc, d’Italie, de France et du Mexique. À partir des années 1960, la marginalisation du réalisme socialiste dans le monde de l’art socialiste ne marque cependant pas la fin de ces modèles, ni la fin d’une recherche à un niveau international d’une peinture manifestant une solidarité politique. |

| Summary, etc. | Socialist Realism and its International ModelsThis article explores the question of the artistic models circulating in socialist countries, focusing on the plastic arts in the GDR. The only declared model was the art of the Soviet Union, but East German artists, who were involved in the creation of socialist realism, showed little interest in Soviet art. Realist forms set up as models actually came from the peripheries of the bloc, from Italy, France and Mexico. From the 1960s on, the marginalisation of socialist realism in the socialist art world did not mean the end of these models nor the end of an international search for an art that manifested political solidarity. |
