| Summary, etc. | Défenseur d’un idéal féminin, chantre d’un renouveau familial, l’État français n’hésite pas à sanctionner durement celles qui troublent la Révolution nationale. Symbole de ce renouveau répressif, cinq femmes sont guillotinées sous l’Occupation alors qu’il n’y en avait eu aucune en temps de paix depuis 1887. Elles sont condamnées par des juridictions ordinaires ou d’exception pour des infractions de droit commun. D’autres femmes sont également condamnées à mort mais ne verront pas leur peine exécutée. Cette situation interroge sur la répression de la délinquance féminine sous Vichy et plus généralement sur la place de la femme au sein de l’idéologie de l’État français. |

| Summary, etc. | In defense of a certain feminine ideal and in favor of increased support for the nuclear family, the French State did not hesitate to heavily repress women who were problematic for the “Révolution Nationale” of the Vichy government. As symbols of this new repression, five women were guillotined during the Occupation, marking the first female executions since 1887. They were sentenced to death by ordinary and extraordinary courts, for common law offenses. Other women were also sentenced to death during that period of time, but were ultimately never executed. This situation raises questions as to the repression of female delinquency, but more generally as to the role that women occupied within the ideology of the French State at the time. |
