| Summary, etc. | En France, l’accouchement dit « sous X » permet à toute femme de mettre un enfant au monde sans dévoiler son identité ni établir de lien de filiation. Depuis la fin du xxe siècle, ce silence s’est vu tempéré par l’adoption croissante de dispositions facilitant l’accès partiel des enfants à certaines informations lorsqu’ils atteignent leur majorité – si tant est qu’ils en expriment la volonté. Mais comment ces informations sont-elles produites ? Et que révèlent-elles du traitement institutionnel de la filiation ? Consignées dans des documents rédigés et archivés par des services spécialisés, elles font pourtant l’objet d’un traitement singulier dont l’étude renseigne sur la fabrique des attaches et des relations. Adossé à une enquête ethnographique menée auprès de professionnelles de l’accompagnement, cet article étudie la production des informations biographiques et montre comment le traitement des « origines » participe d’une mise en ordre institutionnelle des sentiments, des liens et des subjectivités – forçant le lien au cœur même du dispositif censé l’empêcher. |

| Summary, etc. | For centuries, French anonymous childbirth (“accouchement sous X”) has allowed any woman to give birth in a public hospital without never revealing her identity (to the professionals, to the state or to the child). However, since the end of the 20th century, this possibility has been tempered by new provisions facilitating (partial) access for children to certain information when they reach their majority – if they desire so. Yet, how is this information produced? And what does it reveal about the way kinship is institutionally organised? Recorded in documents written by trained professionals and archived by specialised services, this information is nonetheless the subject of singular treatment whom analysis shed light upon the social construction of kinship. Based on an ethnographic fieldwork conducted amongst trained professionals, this paper analyses the material and discursive fabrication of biographical narratives and shows how the way “origins” are treated reflects an institutional ordering of feelings, ties, and subjectivities – forcing a relationship at the heart of the apparatus that aims at suppressing it. |
