| Summary, etc. | En France, à travers l’attribution de l’allocation personnalisée d’autonomie (Apa), les agent·e·s des conseils départementaux prescrivent implicitement le travail d’aide et d’accompagnement ( care) auprès des personnes âgées en perte de capacités vivant à domicile. Issu d’une enquête par entretiens menée entre 2017 et 2019 auprès des agent·e·s d’un département français, cet article cherche à comprendre comment les plans d’aide élaborés pour chaque bénéficiaire tracent de facto des limites entre les différentes modalités de ce travail, rémunéré ou non, financé par l’Apa ou non. Il tente aussi d’expliquer pourquoi, malgré le souci des agent·e·s quant à la qualité du service à apporter, les niveaux de l’allocation sont minorés, les conditions de travail et les compétences des pourvoyeurs de l’aide sont invisibilisées, perpétuant ainsi la dégradation des emplois du secteur de l’aide à domicile. |

| Summary, etc. | In France, through the attribution of the Personalized Autonomy Allowance (Apa), the agents of the Departmental Councils implicitly prescribe the care work for elderly people with loss of capacity. Based on a field survey conducted between 2017 and 2019 with agents in a French department, this paper seeks to understand how the help plans, drawn up for each beneficiary living at their own home, draw de facto limits between the different modalities of this work, paid or not, funded by the Apa or not. It also tries to explain why, despite the concern of agents for the quality of the service to be provided, the levels of the allowance are reduced, the working conditions and the skills of the care providers are invisible, thus perpetuating the deterioration of jobs in home-based care sector. |
