| Summary, etc. | Au regard de la documentation spécialement syriaque, le paysage monastique de la région d’al-Ḥīra apparaît à la fois multiple et complexe. Différentes formes de vie religieuse s’y sont incarnées en profondeur et dans la durée, dans une variété d’expressions, à la faveur de contextes politiques et socio-religieux propices, sur un espace-frontière réceptacle d’influences croisées. Cette prospection cherche à identifier les principaux courants monastiques qui ont marqué le secteur, leurs spécificités, mais aussi leurs interférences, et montre le déploiement qui s’y produisit autour du viie siècle, qui eut pour corollaire un façonnement de traditions accréditant une stratégie d’appropriation de l’espace. |

| Summary, etc. | Al- Ḥīra at the Crossroads of Monastic TraditionsLooking at the monastic landscape of al-Ḥīra region through Syriac documentation in particular, it appears to be both multiple and complex. Different forms of religious life were deeply embodied there over time, expressed in a variety of ways, thanks to favourable political and socio-religious contexts, in a border area that was subjected to mixed influences. This survey seeks to identify the main monastic currents that marked the area, their specificities, but also their interferences, and shows the deployment that took place around the 7th century, which had as a corollary a shaping of traditions accrediting a strategy of the appropriation of space. |
