Summary, etc. | Romani literatures, because they do not define themselves according to national standards embodie the idea of world-literature (as hailed from Goethe to Glissant) and find – or should find – logically their place in the research field of Comparative Literature. The Postcolonial critical approach applies peculiarly well to this « homeless literature » (Ottmar Ette) of writers belonging to minorities and uttering a « multilingual speech » (Edouard Glissant), such as the Austrian writers Stefan Horvath and Ceija Stojka do.As an emergent literature – self-referential, meta-reflexive, trauma writing, decentered and polyphonic, and from a « minority » (Kafka) posture – Romani literature is exemplary of the « All-world » cultural for which the works of non-dominating cultures long. |
