| Summary, etc. | RésuméLa légitimité morale et économique des systèmes industriels et intensifs de productions animales mis en place en France à partir des années 1960 est, à plus d’un titre, contestée aujourd’hui. Les critiques sont notamment formalisées par la question du « bien-être animal ». Mais les éleveurs sont également touchés par la violence de ces systèmes et par une organisation du travail désincarnée qui les contraint à réprimer la part affective et relationnelle de leur travail. La souffrance engendrée par ces systèmes interroge le sens même des activités d’élevage et la pérennité du lien social construit par dix mille ans d’histoire partagée avec les animaux domestiques. |

Critics are particularly concerned about the « animal welfare » issue. Los críticos se preocupan particularmente por la cuestión del « bienestar animal ». Sin embargo, los productores también están siendo afectados por la violencia de dichos sistemas y por la organización del trabajo alienado que los obliga a reprimir la parte afectiva y relacional de su trabajo.
