Penser les chevauchements en termes de continuité ou de discontinuité entre travail de service et vie de famille serait, pour l’auteur, insuffisant. |

Summary, etc. | In this article, the author suggests to emphasize a specific type of work, named emotion work, through the study of the relations between service jobs and family life. Those are two spheres of social reproduction. Relations between service jobs and family life should be examined in details, to estimate the spillover between the two spheres and their psychological consequences for women. Conceiving the spillover in terms of continuity or discontinuity between service work and family life may be inadequate, according to the author. |

Summary, etc. | ResumenEn este artículo la autora propone acentuar una forma particular de trabajo llamada trabajo emocional (emotion work) a través del estudio de las relaciones entre los empleos de servicio y la vida familiar, que son esferas que llaman a la reproducción social. Los lazos entre empleos de servicio y vida familiar deberían asumirse con mayor profundidad con el fin de apreciar las manifiestas cercanías entre las esferas y sus repercusiones psicológicas sobre las mujeres. Para la autora resulta insuficiente pensar dichas cercanías en términos de continuidad o de discontinuidad entre trabajo de servicio y vida familiar. |
