520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | The Virtual Thread, the Meaningful Chain. Seen from a specifically psychoanalytical point of view, recent developments in computer imagery present a heuristic model for the genesis of psychic representation : the object emerges in its virtual form (ie. the lost object, the object that ‘must be found’of psychoanalytical theory). Two different levels must be determined : that of the virtual in the true sense of the term, which refers to the analogical figuration, non-verbal in form, and that of the virtual which is to be understood as sexual pre-sexual, opening onto virtualities as if possessed of meaning, creating a subject as virtual subject : virtual/ virtuality oppose each other as do the representation of the thing and the word, the primary and secondary. Psychic reality has much in common with virtual reality, the games and language of children and more generally desire are expressed through the virtual register : Oedipal desire is by nature virtual. |
