520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Giving but holding back won’t do If retaliation is instinctive, the recognition of debt is something that has to be learnt from childhood (‘Say thank you’). This is indeed a fundamental skill that conditions the building up of lawful ties between people. Yet the unconscious can come along and disturb things, and in this case the debt can be shifted away from the person to whom it is truly owed, to an Other to whom it is impossible to pay back this debt. Or again, the person owing the debt may find him or herself incapable of honouring their debt because he or she considers themself to be owed by others already so many unpaid debts. In this article, concrete examples are taken to confront the primary logic that is the ordering principle behind ‘the rightful position’that is always that of the subject, with the logic that conditions the establishment of the rules that govern our obligations.
