Dans quelle cohérence métapsychologique s’inscrivent ces conclusions de Freud ? Cette cohérence semble se trouver dans le rôle certainement excessif accordé à l’angoisse de castration comme viatique du changement psychique. Est-il possible de contrebalancer cette position de Freud concernant la femme en privilégiant d’autres axes théoriques du cheminement freudien, notamment l’angoisse de perte d’amour à laquelle la femme semble particulièrement exposée ? |

Few analysts today would subscribe to Freud’s position that supposes that women have a specific difficulty in forming ideals. On what meta-psychological coherence can Freud’s conclusions be based ? This coherence seems to reside in the certainly excessive role Freud allows castration anxiety to play as the primary asset of psychic development. Is it possible to counterbalance Freud’s position concerning women by placing more importance on the other theoretical axes of Freudian theory, notably the anxiety of the loss of love to which women seem particularly vulnerable ? |
