| Summary, etc. | RésuméCet article présente les grands axes d’une recherche concernant la relation au travail dans la société esclavagiste de la Guadeloupe et de la Martinique ( xviie- xixe siècles). Il s’agit d’une part d’analyser le rapport au travail des planteurs esclavagistes, d’exposer comment leur ethos s’est imposé au cours d’un processus supposant l’érosion du travail blanc, d’autre part d’étudier la division du travail servile, de cerner la capacité de l’esclave d’accéder à des activités autonomes, et enfin de tenter d’appréhender le rapport maître-esclave. |

| Summary, etc. | This article presents several main axis of a research concerning the relationship with work in the slavery society of Guadeloupe and Martinique (Seventeenth-Nineteenth centuries). One part is to analyze the relationship with work of the planters, to expose how their ethos was imposed in a process involving the erosion of white working, the other part is to study the slave division of labour, identify the capacity of the slave to access autonomous activities, and finally to try to understand the relationship master-slave. |

| Summary, etc. | ResumenEste artículo presenta los grandes ejes de una búsqueda relativa a la relación con el trabajo en la sociedad esclavista de Guadalupe y Martinica (siglos xvii- xix). De un lado se trata de analizar la relación con el trabajo de los terratenientes esclavistas y de exponer cómo su ethos se impuso a lo largo de un proceso que suponía la erosión del trabajo blanco. De otra parte, estudia la distribución del trabajo servil y la aproximación a la capacidad del esclavo para acceder a actividades autónomas. Finalmente se intenta así aprehender la relación amo-esclavo. |
