Elle rend compte, à travers un hommage à son ancienne médecin-chef, à la fois du cheminement conceptuel de cette grande figure de la psychiatrie publique d’après-guerre et de son articulation à la pratique du soin au quotidien à laquelle elle a assisté et participé de très près. Elle pose la question politique du travail en psychiatrie : en quel nom parle et travaille le psychiatre public ? Et relate les positions d’Hélène Chaigneau, tant sur la pratique du pouvoir que sur son articulation intime avec le sentiment de toute-puissance. |

As a tribute to her former head-doctor, she gives an account of the conceptual development of this important figure of post-war public psychiatry and of its connection with the day-to-day medical practice that she herself closely attended and to which she also closely participated. She raises the following political question regarding psychiatric work: in the name of whom does the public psychiatrist work?
