| Summary, etc. | Ni Freud ni Jung ne se sont beaucoup penchés sur les liens entre psychiatrie et psychanalyse. Mais Lacan, de par sa formation et ses rencontres, a essayé d’articuler cette relation, et cela en plusieurs étapes : d’abord, dans sa thèse de médecine, il propose une rénovation de la psychiatrie à l’éclairage de la psychanalyse; puis, avec l’apport de la phénoménologie psychiatrique, il insiste sur la psychogenèse de la pathologie mentale; ensuite, combattant la scientifisation de la médecine, il rappelle la dimension du transfert dans toute relation médecin malade; de même, dénonçant les risques de scientifisation de la psychiatrie qui protège le psychiatre d’une relation angoissante au malade, il rappelle enfin que la psychiatrie moderne s’inscrit dans la retrouvaille de la vie cachée du langage et dans l’importance de la parole qui en découle. |

| Summary, etc. | Lacan and Psychiatry. Lacan and Psychiatrists Neither Freud nor Jung gave much thought to the links between psychiatry et psychoanalysis. Yet Lacan, due to his particular training and the people he encountered in his life, did try to examine this relationship in several lights. First, in his PhD, he suggested that psychiatry be renovated by injecting psychoanalytical thought into it. Then, in the light of psychiatric phenomenology, he lays great stress on the psychogenesis of mental pathology. After this he goes on to fight against the ‘scientification’of medicine and lays stress on the transference at work in any doctor-patient relationship. Similarly, he denounces the risks of the ‘scientification’of psychiatry which protect the psychiatrist from developing a tormented relationship with the patient, and reminds us that modern psychiatry is part of the rediscovery of the life hidden in language and the importance of the speech that is born from this. |
