| Summary, etc. | User du terme de Mal est un piège moderne qui ferait supposer répondre enfin au pourquoi de la Shoah. Le crime contre l’humanité est événement, et il ne le serait pas encore, car c’est une transmission brisée, brisée tant l’attaque de la mort a une magnitude sans précédent. Meurtre de la mort. L’attaque de la mort la change. Elle devient objet. Aujourd’hui nous voisinons avec une telle abjection un peu plus qu’avant, qu’on veuille le reconnaître ou non. La pratique du lien social, ou de celui du couple, montre cette difficulté. Cela fait retour dans les cures analytiques sous la forme de : comment ne pas abîmer plus son corps. C’est pourquoi l’analysant tient à se faire entendre pour se situer face au changement du rapport à la monstruosité, ayant pour conséquence une autre agressivité sociale, forme autre de canaillerie désormais s’ajoutant à celles d’avant. Comme si le complexe d’Œdipe, le meurtre pour le père, l’inceste pour la mère, étaient atteints. La magnitude des crimes dans la Shoah montre que la loi est devenue entièrement criminelle, au point de briser la transmission de la loi, et aboutir à une désupposition de la langue comme porteuse de valeurs : la mort, la vie, la jouissance, le lien social. Aujourd’hui tout se passe comme si un névrosé était dans la quasi impossibilité de ne pas devenir psychanalyste... Comment tenir quelque bout de réel de ce qui s’est passé dans l’histoire, sinon en essayant d’en entendre « quelque chose », du fait de devenir psychanalyste lui-même. |

| Summary, etc. | The Holocaust and the Snare of Evil Employing the word Evil is the snare of modern times, in that it is meant to supply some neat explanation for why the Holocaust happened. Crime against humanity is an event in itself, and as such is unrepeatable in that it is a breaking point in the line of transmission, broken by the unprecedented scale of the death wrought. In other words, death, in the Holocaust, was murdered. The attacks perpetrated by death have changed. It has become an object. Today we are bedfellows with death, even more abjectly than before and whether we want to recognise this or not. Social bonds or relationships within couples express this clearly. This is expressed in cures in the form of the question – how can I avoid not damaging my body further. This also explains why the analysand wishes to make themself heard in order to be able to situate themselves in the face of this changing relationship with monstrosity and social aggressivity, a new form of baseness to be added to those already existing, that stems from this. It is as if the Oedipus complex, the murder of the father, incest with the mother, had been itself attacked. The extent of the crimes committed during the Holocaust shows how the Law became criminal to such a point that the transmission of the Law was broken and language no longer bore such values as death, life, jouissance, and social bonds. Today, the current state of affairs means that someone with neurosis finds themselves in a position of near impossibility of not becoming a psychoanalyst... For how can we grasp even a fragment of the reality of what has happened in history without trying to understand ‘something’of it by becoming a psychoanalyst oneself. |
