520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Creative Repetition What light can we shed, when we consider our experience of cures and traumatic situations that have not been integrated into psychic reality, on the conditions of a repetition that proves to be highly creative ? How can we pinpoint what is new and how this emerges during the cure, in the light of transference which is in itself a constraint that imposes repetition ? We shall look at the traumas that Winnicott described in the fear of breakdown and at the function of the constructions suggested by the analyst as attempts to bring to the surface of psychic reality for the first time, the traces of a traumatic event of which the subject has no conscious knowledge. The effacement of any memory of the event can be expressed in analysis by the desertification of all psychic life, or paradoxically, find expression in the form of constantly repeated words and the consecration of the fixed memory of the trauma. The work of the analyst in his or her counter-transference can in such situations be the only way forward to the anaclisis of such constructions.
