| Summary, etc. | Si peut se reprendre, concernant le travail de supervision, le mot de «maniement» dont Freud fait usage à propos du transfert, c’est parce que se trouve ainsi convoquée, pour le superviseur et son acte, la conflictualité agissante et complexe que cette expérience de formation rencontre nécessairement: tension entre pédagogique et analytique, entre mémoire et transfert, entre liberté et exigence institutionnelle. La formation est d’abord développement: le travail à deux de la supervision, qui fonde son efficacité sur la confiance peu à peu gagnée en une associativité partagée, fait du contre-transfert – dans le sens élargi d’une construction de langage– son objet véritable. |

| Summary, etc. | On the Handling of Supervision. The word ‘handling’ used by Freud in his discussion of transference is also a useful tool in the discussion of supervision, in that for the supervisor involved in this activity, a great deal of conflict and tension is aroused. Indeed, the complex tension between the pedagogical and analytical dimensions of his work, between memory and transference and between personal freedom and the demands of the analytical institution are constantly at play. Training is first and foremost a process of development involving working as a pair in supervision. The effectiveness of this is based on the trust which is gradually won as a common partnership is forged, making counter-transference, in its widest sense as a construction based on language, its true object. |
