| Summary, etc. | L’article vise à documenter le processus qui conduit certains noms d’humains généraux (NHG) vers un emploi de marqueur discursif. Ce type d’évolution, bien identifié dans d’autres langues, a été peu analysé en français. La difficulté tient tout autant aux unités manipulées (comme celle de marqueurs discursifs rarement reliés à des NHG), qu’aux cadres d’analyse (le recours à des paramètres phonologiques, morphologiques, syntaxiques et pragmatiques pas toujours faciles à préciser car multifonctionnels) ou à la multiplicité des facteurs à prendre en compte (les caractéristiques – de genre, de milieu, etc. – des locuteurs, leur proximité, les thèmes abordés dans les échanges, la position des termes dans l’énoncé, etc.). |

| Summary, etc. | This article aims to document the process that causes some General Human Nouns to become discourse markers. This type of evolution, well-documented in other languages, has got little attention in French linguistics. The difficulty lies as much in the units manipulated (such as discourse markers being rarely linked to General Human Nouns) as in the frameworks of analysis (the use of phonological, morphological, syntactic and pragmatic parameters that are not always easy to specify because they are multifunctional) or in the multiplicity of factors to be taken into account (the characteristics – gender, social environment, etc. – of the speakers, their proximity, the topics discussed in the conversation, the position of the terms in the utterance, etc.). |
