| Summary, etc. | On s’attache ici à rouvrir la question du diagnostic, telle qu’elle se déploie le long du trajet historique qui va de Charcot à Freud. Cela impose de réévaluer l’impulsion profonde qu’exerce la démarche nosologique de Charcot dans le mouvement de la découverte freudienne : c’est ainsi la première parole freudienne sur le champ des névroses qu’il s’agit de rééxhumer, pour y retrouver, derrière la « main classificatrice » de Freud, l’incidence d’un point particulier de la méthodologie de Charcot. En suivant le destin freudien des Leçons de Charcot, donc, c’est la place accordée aux névroses mixtes dans la psychopathologie de Freud qui nous permet d’épingler le rôle que tient la démarche diagnostique dans la rationalité psychanalytique. |

| Summary, etc. | Mixed Neuroses Put to the Test by the Diagnostic Process – the Freudian Destiny of Charcot’s Lessons. This paper re-examines the question of diagnosis as it evolved through time from Charcot to Freud. This in turn requires a re-evaluation of the deeply rooted role played by Charcot’s nosological approach in triggering Freud’s discoveries. This requires that we once again exhume Freud’s initial work in the field of neurosis in order to reveal, the importance of a specific point in Charcot’s methodology from the perspective of Freud’s ‘classifying mind’. If we trace the destiny of Charcot’s lessons as they reach Freud’s hands, it is the importance granted to mixed neuroses in Freud’s psychopathology which allows us to pinpoint the role played by the diagnostic process in the rationality of psychoanalysis. |
