De là à dire que c’est un acte courageux, il y a un pas que cet article ne franchit pas, pour la simple et bonne raison qu’il est surtout question d’angoisse et de passage à l’acte : autre face inconsciente de l’engagement politique. À travers l’exemple du Club de Rome, et de ses conséquences au plan politique, nous verrons combien la prise de décision motivée par la peur d’avoir peur s’apparente aujourd’hui à un savant calcul uniquement destiné à anticiper un avenir incertain car écologiquement fragile. |

| Summary, etc. | Political Disengagement – Analysis of a Contemporary Phenomenon. Engagement is by definition an act. That does not, however, mean that it is forasmuch a courageous act and this is not what this paper will argue, for the simple reason that engagement is primarily a question of anxiety and enactment – the alternative unconscious face of political commitment. We will explore the example of the Club of Rome and its political consequences, in order to show how decision taking rooted in a fear of fear is little more today than a clever calculation solely intended to anticipate a future that is uncertain because of its ecologically frailty. |
