| Summary, etc. | À travers l’œuvre et la vie d’André Malraux, sont abordées ici les deux problématiques indissolublement liées chez le héros adolescent : celle de la mort librement acceptée et celle de la fraternité assumée sans réserve. À propos du processus de l’adolescence, je reprendrai ici la formulation de Piera Aulagnier, selon laquelle ce processus repose sur un « fonds d’auto-historicité » toujours remis en jeu par sa « confrontation à des possibles relationnels ». C’est précisément ce double mouvement qui me paraît au centre de la saga malrucienne, faite de prises de risque, de coups d’éclat et de coup de dés qui, selon l’expression de Mallarmé « n’aboliront jamais le hasard ». |

| Summary, etc. | Malraux, the Teenage Hero This article explores the life and work of André Malraux to examine two questions which are inextricably linked for teenage heroes – that of death as freely accepted and that of fraternity as unreservedly espoused. As a means of exploring the processes at work in adolescence, the author refers to the terms of Piera Aulagnier’s formulation according to which these processes are rooted in a ‘depth of self-historicity,’ unceasingly set in motion by a ‘confrontation with relational possibilities.’ This double movement seemingly lies at the heart of the saga of Malraux, full of risk-taking, remarkable feats and throws of the dice, which, to quote Mallarmé, ‘will never annul chance.’ |
