Certains « tout va bien » accompagnés d’un sourire surfait se défont dès qu’ils sont confrontés au miroir de l’écoute analytique. Ces restes, murmures, bruits, râles qui débordent et enveloppent la parole communicante constituent un entour qui donne le ton. L’action de l’écoute analytique au sens où elle invite à l’art de l’intervalle, tient à un art du rythme reposant sur l’articulation des temps au silence. Jouant entre absence et présence, rêve et réalité, parole énoncée et parole entendue, contenu manifeste et contenu latent, représentation de choses et représentation de mots, l’action de l’écoute analytique favorise l’ouverture de la parole à sa musique et à son propre style. |

Summary, etc. | Tone of voice is essential in bearing witness to the effects of presence beneath what is meant. Sometimes, when someone says ‘Everything is fine’, with a forced smile, the mirror of the analyst’s listening ear completely belies their words. The remnants, murmuring noises or groans overflowing from and enveloping the communicating word creates a ring which sets the tone. The action of psychoanalytic listening, in that it invites one to explore the art of the interval, is intimately linked with that of rhythm, based on the articulation of time in silence. Playing on such notions as absence and presence, dream and reality, spoken word and speech heard, manifest and latent content and the representation of things and words, the action of analytic listening encourages speech to embrace its own particular music and individual style. |
