Summary, etc. | Le judaïsme, propose Lacan, met en acte une mode de différentiation, une forme de distinction qui lui est constitutif et qui devrait être interrogé par la psychanalyse. L’auteur propose de dégager la modalité originale de ce mode de différenciation soit la modalité par laquelle il fonde son identité collective tout en problématisant l’idée même de l’identité. L’auteur prend appui sur les travaux de l’égyptologue Jan Assmann qui esquisse la distinction monothéiste comme un acte violent. Le monothéisme se constituerait comme une « vraie » religion rejetant dans le « faux » et l’exclusion la théologie polythéiste qui le précède. L’intolérance lui serait alors inhérente. Assmann décrit comme alternative une sphère polythéiste pré-monothéiste qui serait bien plus tolérante, ouverte et capable de contenir en elle une multiplicité culturelle. En s’appuyant sur ces travaux, l’auteur y introduit un écart et dégage une autre modalité de constitution. Entre l’affirmation violente du monothéisme et son envers, le retour au polythéisme, se dégage ici une troisième voie. |

Summary, etc. | Judaism, says Lacan, enacts a mode of differentiation, a form of distinction which is constitutive to it, and should therefore be investigated by psychoanalysis. The author of this paper highlights the distinctive modality of this means of differentiation, and the modality through which Judaism constructs its collective identity while problematizing the very idea of identity itself. The author refers to the work of Egyptologist Jan Assamann who outlines the monotheistic distinction as a violent act. Monotheism positions itself as the ‘true’ religion and rejects ‘false’ polytheistic theology. Intolerance is therefore inherent to it. As an alternative, Assmann describes a pre-monotheistic, polytheistic sphere which is supposed to be much more tolerant, open and able to accommodate cultural multiplicity. Building on this work, the author introduces the notion of a gap from which another modality of identity construction emerges. Between the option of a violent constitution of monotheism and the opposite way that calls for a return to polytheism, we will see a third way emerging here. |
