| Summary, etc. | Partant du présupposé que l’imaginaire social et les discours influencent les auto-constructions individuelles, je discuterai cette question à l’aide de courts exemples qui se réfèrent aux pratiques sexuelles, spécialement les sadomasochistes. Ces pratiques sont abordées selon les perspectives psychanalytiques en tenant compte de la différence que fait Freud entre le sexuel et la sexualité. Il en ressort clairement que les modes de désir reflètent les structures culturelles, et ici en particulier le discours néolibéral de liberté et d’optimisation de soi. |

| Summary, etc. | Beginning with the supposition that social conceptions and discourse influence individual self-construction, I will discuss this question from the vantage point of short examples relating to sexual practices, notably those of a sado-masochistic nature. The practices will be examined from a psychoanalytical perspective, bearing in mind the distinction made clear by Freud between the sexual and sexuality. It clearly transpires that modes of desire reflect cultural structures, and more particularly the neoliberal discourse pertaining to freedom and optimisation of self. |
