| Summary, etc. | Le pouvoir, forme d’influence sur l’autre, compte aussi pour les arts. L’hypothèse proposée est que cette influence s’exerce à travers le cadre. Classiquement, le cadre est la bordure, le « ready made » l’a transformé en cadre symbolique, comme en psychanalyse. Le cadre du roman propose des invariants, dans les arts du spectacle le cadre est, comme en sociologie, le contexte de l’interaction. Dans l’art, le cadre ne conduit pas au succès, son pouvoir est d’attirer l’attention en proposant une aire transitionnelle, qui, comme en psychanalyse, peut affiner la capacité de symbolisation. |

| Summary, etc. | Power, in that it embodies a form of influence over another entity, also exists in the arts. This paper posits the hypothesis that this influence is exerted through framing. Traditionally, a frame is a border, hitherto transformed by ‘ready mades’ into a symbolic frame, just as in psychoanalysis. Novels also have a frame, comprising a set of invariables, and in the performing arts the frame, as in sociology, is the context within which interaction takes place. In art, the frame does not offer a direct path to success. Rather, it is art’s way of calling attention to itself by creating a transitional space which, just as in psychoanalysis, provides a means of refining our capacity for symbolisation. |
