| Summary, etc. | Parmi les nouvelles parentalités d’aujourd’hui, il faut compter de plus en plus avec celle des personnes handicapées mentales. Etre parent et handicapé mental? Question complexe, rencontrée dans notre pratique de sexo-pédagogues spéciali~sées, qui nous incite à faire connaître toutes les nuances de ce désir d’enfant, au travers de situations de vie et de handicaps très différents. L’expression de ce désir n’est pas nouvelle en soi, toutefois son ampleur actuelle ne peut laisser indifférent. « Mes frères et sœurs ont tous des enfants. Pourquoi je peux pas avoir un bébé, moi aussi?» Il est exprimé et entendu, grâce au respect des Droits Humains Fondamentaux dont découlent pour les personnes vivant avec un handicap mental: l’intégration, l’émancipation, la valorisation des rôles sociaux, la reconnaissance à la vie affective et sexuelle et le « droit à la procréation». Ces demandes de parentalité génèrent un incontournable questionnement éthique que nous vous proposons de partager. |

| Summary, etc. | Being a parent and mentally handicapped?Today the mentally handicapped persons are increasingly willing to become parents. As specialized sex educators we must deal in our practice with this complex issue and help to understand and support all aspects of such maternal and paternal desires where both the situation and the degree of handicap often differs. While this desire to have a baby isn’t new as such, one cannot ignore its increasing importance. « My brothers and sisters all have children. Why can’t I?» Such expressed desires are heeded by respecting basic Human Rights – including the right « to procreate» – and helping handicapped persons to lead at the most their own life in society, which includes recogni~zing and answering their emotional and sexual needs. These parental demands create an unavoidable ethi~cal dilemma that we would like to share with you. |

| Summary, etc. | ¿ Puede una persona con discapacidad psiquica ser padre?Entre las nuevas paternidades de hoy, cada vez más, tenemos que hacer frente a la posibilidad de que las personas con discapacidades men~tales, accedan a ser padres. ¿ Ser padre y discapacitado mental? Dificil cuestión, con la que nos encontra~mos en nuestras práctica taréa de sexo-pedagogos especializados, que nos induce a dar a conocer todos los matices de este deséo de tener hijos, a través de situaciones de vida y de discapacidades muy diferentes. « Mis hermanos tienen hijos. ¿ Por qué yo no puedo tener un bebé?» Está establecido que los Derchos del Hombre Fundamentales, atiendan a estas personas con discapacidades mentales para que tengan acceso a: la integración, la emancipación y la valoración de los distintos papeles sociales, así como al reconoci~miento a la vida afectiva y sexual y al « derecho a tener hijos». Estas demandas de paternidad, generan un cuestionamiento ético que les proponemos compartan con nosotras. |
